hello, my streambox is now up and running. i put a small electret mic on my balcony. i had to anonymise conversation with a small granular synthesys in the live stream, but quality is lot's better than my old stream. anyway, when i'm connecting to the soundmap, i can see my stream, but can't listen to it. does the paris stream : home_ch work for you? i'm wondering if i'm doing something wrong, or if he interface is not linux friendly. tell me thanks Cyrille

just asking how hot must be the streambox in normal condition, when the box have no holes for air flow? any experiences with it? hacks? suguestions?

Hi Everyone, I'm Emeka from Nigeria and currently in the process of setting up the Lagos stream. Please could anyone recommend an electro static microphone suitable for recordings? Please boot your streams We are inviting you to take part in two upcoming events by streaming your mike over the next 4 weeks and of course as long as possible with the help of our new automatic online system and server. These events will take place in Hong-Kong and in Paris. http://locusonus.org/ http://locusonus.org/soundmap/ ........................................................................ ...................... 1/ Week 26th of April to 3rd of May - Hong-Kong Locus Sonus is participating in the Around - Listening Places Festival in Hong-Kong. Locustream Audio Tardis : Designed as a listen-in event, a 2-hours sequence of available streams from the Locustream project will be played on the rooftop of a building downtown Hong-Kong (Foo Tak Building in Wan Shai Hong-Kong). The cyclical sequence will successively play the live streams for around 7 mn each. A simple video-image showing the name of the location and of the streamer will be be projected during each sequence. On Wednesday the 29th of April, Jerome Joy will do a lecture on Locus Sonus projects at the Hong-Kong Academy for Performing Arts (7pm). Locus Sonus : Locustream Audio Tardis A live journey through a worldwide network of open microphones : A rapid, imaginary journey between various open mikes of the Locustream project, initiated by the Locus Sonus lab. All the sounds that you hear were transmitted live from the distant locations where volunteers taking part in the project have set up microphones which permanently stream their chosen soundscape via the web. By switching from stream to stream and automatically sequencing the sound diffusion of each available Locustream webmics, we propose an analogy to the actual listening experience which you can experience for yourself on the Locustream SoundMap if you chose to listen to the Locus Sonus streams on a daily basis. Happily school has ended, and once I get some things hammered out regarding some proposals deadlines and the WLP's mission, I hope there will be more time to devote to this effort. Oh, and an embarassing technical thing...in my effort to keep my Locustream running I forgot that my computer was set to automatically shutdown at 5:30 AM/10:30 AM Paris time. It's taken me more than a week to realize it, but it's fixed now. [locustream] uploading images to profile + other questions

Hello, I have my stream profile set up now, and hope to get a mic (other than the built-in mic) connected. One thing that didn't work was uploading some images, in .jpg format, to my profile. I kept getting a "permission denied" response after clicking on the "submit" and following a minute or so of uploading. Could this have been a temporary server error or was doing something wrong? I am also interested in opening another mic stream at my studio, a different location and computer from the home stream. Is this accomplished by simply creating a new profile? Lastly, what's required to get a STREAMBOX?
