hello i noticed my streambox is restarting like cracy :-P, i checked my internet kink is okay then decided check soudnmap, and then all is in gray :( there is something bad with locusonus servers? regards Cristian Paul

[locustream] placement for the web mic in Fall & Winter

Since many of us are in the northern hemisphere and it's beginning to get quite cold. I can't have my streambox outside because the opened window, even if it's tiny crack, lets too much cold air into the house. If you are in the same situation, I wonder, how have you placed your Locustream mic to pick up outdoor sounds without having the window open and freezing inside? I am hesitant to drill a special hole through the wall in the room where the streambox box is located. I haven't yet found the time to install an extra long network cable from the router through the wall, leading it to a place where the cable can pass to the exterior of the house. Being outside also means that exposure to extreme cold, water and ice, and dust could have a negative effect on the operation of the streambox. I suppose this will be a part of the experiment. Jerome The laptop that was to serve my stream failed. I now have a second borrowed Mac, which I need to reconnect to the LAN of my university. Would you be kind enough to point me to the OSX streaming client again? As soon as I am connected to ethernet I will download it, and with luck will get this node back up. Thank you Tim
