Dear streamers
The weekend of 2-3 May is International Dawn Chorus Day.
This year for the seventh time, Soundcamp will help coordinate a 24+ hour radio transmission of live sounds of daybreak, following the sunrise around the earth.
Reveil can be imagined as an audit of planetary soundcapes, a public art work co-created across scales, or an incentive to get up earlier..
The broadcast is assembled at a temporary radio station in an urban ecology park in London and goes out over some 20 radio stations around the world.
Reveil relies primarily on streams on the Locus Sonus soundmap to which we all contribute.
On this occasion we again warmly invite streamers to refresh your microphones, to consider new approaches and installations, and to check out resources and digital tools:

Thanks best wishes Grant

Reveil 2020 participates in the Acoustic Commons, a small cooperation project for the Creative Europe program of the European Union.
Over three years (2020-22), Acoustic Commons will develop work between Full of Noises (Barrow, Cumbria - lead partner), Locus Sonus (Aix-Marseille), CONA (Ljubljana), Soundcamp (London), Hellenic Mediterranean University (Crete) and Cyberforest (Tokyo). As the project proceeds, it will involve events, workshops and creative actions outside conventional cultural spaces, focusing on sounds as intangible resources which can be shared.
Dear Grant,
Its great to hear from you!.
I want to participate, after March 15 I will have time to start working of the building of the system and I hope to get ready by the begining of April.
Do you have a deadline for the aplication.
Regards,
Jaime D.

I’m glad to see this as the original must have been swallowed up by my spam filter. I have a device already setup and running every now and then, so am happy to contribute once again.

Hi Grant:
My Queens stream is now down permanently, as I am moving to Freeport, NY. I don't know if I will have a permanent installation up by then, but if nothing else, I can set up something temporary for daybreak at that time.

Hi Grant Hope you’re well I am over the technical glitches of last year so have a set up ready to go. I have been recording rivers a lot over winter - although that might not be appropriate - you can’t hear much except for water! :) Dawn chorus has barely started up here with the snow and drop in temps. Have a couple other nice spots though with reliable WiFi at last though. Peak District finally got some more investment. I will probably be here in May, if not I’d like to do a nearby grouse moor but I’ll have to scope out the strength / reliability of the 3G: we will have nesting curlew which would sound very atmospheric. Cheers Dominic

Hi Grant,
I'd like to try again this year. Last year, I tried to get set up (from central Kansas, United States) but ran into some issues, including a bone-headed one involving local-time/GMT conversion.
I'm in Hsinchu City, Taiwan now. I'll see if I can hook up my gear and do some tests.
All the best,
Vince

Hi Grant,
I’ll try to broadcast those days, yes. I’m not really using the locus stream but would love to setup from my microphones for this weekend. I’ll be in Veracruz Mexico in May. Is it possible to do so using my laptop, connecting my microphones to it trough a sound card?
All best
