Dear friends,
The new Locustream PHP config is now ready. This system automates recognition of the streams by the soundmap. Thus you can directly update and add documentation on your stream (descriptions, images, etc.). This new config is intended to encourage growth of the project by simplifying the process of adding new webmikes and locations.
In order to switch to the new soundmap, you need to fill up the on- line form and follow the steps:
http://nujus.net/~locusonus/site/streams/map/admin/
The login and password needed to create an entry are : login : prems psw : prems
You need to create an account (one by webmike) with your own login and psw (keep them for next updates). Be careful, we recommand to use as a login and password the name of your place (stream-name): for example harbour/harbour or avatar/avatar (if the name is already exists try another one)
The url of your stream will have this form : http://locus.creacast.com:9001/location_streamname.ogg Location is your town, stream-name is your place (some example: boston_harbour.ogg / quebec_avatar.ogg / paris_18.ogg / ) This must exactly corresponds to the values you enter in your Pd patch.
The process is very simple : just enter specific informations concerning your stream into each string, and upload images you want to. Before finishing, you can check on the test map you'll find on the same page, and of course don't forget to save.
The new soundmap is here: http://nujus.net/~locusonus/site/streams/map/
You can update your Pd software and your Locustream patch : http://puredata.info/downloads (pd-extended) http://nujus.net/~locusonus/site/streams/Locustream070414.zip
Next weeks, a stand-alone app Locus Streamer will be available for an use on osX and Win (for simple installation in place of Pd installing and patch downloading).
If you've got some problems or questions, send a message to the list, we'll answer you.
We have also been busy developing the LocustreamBox : http:// vimeo.com/1650869 we hope that we will soon be handing these out to dedicated streamers.

Hello all
so we observe that little by little you're transfering the open mikes to the new php config and soundmap.
Because the config is currently in a testing version, thanks to send us some feedbacks to help us improving the system.
Don't forget to fill the various fields of the online form in order to well describe your mike on the mike's window.
One tip : when you fill the 'operator' field, the names you enter are appearing automatically in the participants' list. You can access to this list by clicking the people icon on the right beside the map.
Thanks for your effort and your enthusiasm for maintaining the mikes
+ jerome
