I've moved the mic into my office, and it is now "listening" to a live public radio call in talk show. The signal should be stronger, rather then just air conditioning sound.
If this address configuration is incorrect, please let me know. I am leaving campus now, but will return tomorrow morning. I would be happy to reconfigure the streaming client.

hi tim, your stream is clipping a bit but i have to say i like it cause it has a background layer (with a delay?) that gives to it some misterious air. is not very stable, but it might well me "my" network here.. (reason why i have no stream yet up)

I'm using only the Pd patch and laptop for my stream. The Pd patch freezes every 4 or 5 hours so I apologize for my sporadic broadcasts. I'll try to monitor my steam as much as possible and reboot whenever I'm able.

that he is using the same patch as everyone else, so is not the patch, is something in his pd or even in the system, also, i quite hard to guess since we only know that hes machine freezes every ~5 hours :S
i wonder what computer, how much ram, what pd version.. plus, how stable is the network where the box is located.

I'm using the most recent PD patch (the one attached previously) along with Pure Data version 0.42.5 (released September 2010) and a MacBook Pro with 4GB RAM.
how stable is the network where the box is located.
The network is very stable. I do not have a box.
I think the confusion here is that for whatever reason I am unable to acquire an actual streambox. What I understood from Jerome was that streaming using only the pd patch (no streambox) is a temporary solution and in order to broadcast a stable and permanent stream a streambox is recommended.
If I'm wrong about this I apologize:)

Anne I had a confirmation from Jerome that he could hear my stream. Hopefully all is well now.
Also, it would be helpful to get an update on recent venues for Locus Sonus and any installation images. I'm updating my CV.

However, that path is not linked to the Locus Sonus sound map. I can fix the path when I am at the university tomorrow, unless you wish to keep it as it is above? Please advise.

A new version of the soundmap is up starting from today. This version is v.2.4. The url locusonus.org/soundmap is now redirected to locusonus.org/ soundmap/024/ (and same operation is done for the former address locusonus.org/soundmap/023/).
So when you access to your account, check the url in your browser (and modify your bookmark if you used the sub-url access). You must have : http://locusonus.org/soundmap/024/
The new feature we have put on the soundmap is the automatic access to a recent recorded soundfile of a stream when it is temporary down. This soundfile is automatically played by the ogg player into the pop- up window. In this case, the stream icon turns orange with a red button. This offers to listeners the possibility to have a sound snapshot of a stream and to incite them to come back later to the soundmap in order to listen to the live stream. When your stream is up again, the soundmap automatically displays and switches to the orange icon and to the live stream player. For other streams (under construction), the icon remains grey.
The Locus Sonus team is recording systematically live streams in order to complete the recorded streams' list on the server. We hope you will enjoy this new feature and any feedback is welcome. We can always improve the system and the interface.
