Sorry for cross-postings.
On International Dawn Chorus Day over the first weekend in May, soundCamp will coordinate the 5th crowd-sourced radio broadcast of sounds of daybreak, starting on Saturday 5th May in the early morning London time and running for 24hours until Sunday 6th.
The mechanism for a continuous live daybreak loop was pioneered via the Locus Sonus network by Ragnar Helgi Ólafsson and Páll Thayer in 2010. Since 2014 we have given the loop an ecological twist, listening out for human and non human points of contact.
Reveil brings open microphones on the Locus Sonus soundmap together with hydrophone observatories, aircraft intercepts and webcam grabs, but the core of the broadcast is here.
We invite you to open your microphones for the broadcast.

Hello,
I was planning to leave my stream box hidden in reeds in East India Dock bird sanctuary but I’ve realised that it being literally a few hundred yards to the east of 0° means the stream will be picked up right at the end of the 24 hours. The problem with that is that I won’t be around to set it up as I have to leave London on the 4th.
But . . . I am going to be camping in Wales so I’ll stream from there. Just finding the precise location.
I’m not clear how to get integrated into Reveil. I’ve followed links and may well be missing some crucial and simple info.

Hi Jem Good to hear - that all makes sense. A stream from Wales would be great Some parts of Reveil are still coming together, so I appreciate your uncertainty..

All clear . . . but while replying to the list, a question:
I have made a sound box following the instructions on the website. It works, no problem, but in one channel I get an annoying radiophonic type of interference. I've tried moving the 4G dongle out of the box on the end of a cable, and various positions of power, mic and 4G cables, but it persists. Maybe the soundcard ? I wondered if anyone else has had such an experience. And has any ideas as to how to get a totally clean signal.
