so we have been using the streambox (quite old one now) from San_Lucas in Medellin (admin by fede) for a small instalation in the back corner of a temporal gallery space (part of the Salon Nacional de fArtistas).

now, re the streambox based on the alix board.. i have around old hardware that could send you to the UK, in case you see it is still valid to recycle/reuse this ancient platform. I have also seen the oggstreamer working, a more robust solution proposed few years ago as a replacement but due to its price never really considered. The current oggstream allows remote management through a webGUI.. something that can be very handy to troubleshoot stuck streams....

there are other bleeding edge options to consider apart from the rasperrihype.. ogg encoders or why not even opus based streams.
