there are 2 upcoming festivals where the streams from all around the planet will be required, this is a call to arms!

please shout/scream and let us know what kind of issues you are facing that stop you from streaming:
City Sonic / Mons August 26 / Sept 11th 2011 And Todaysart +/ MyCityLab in Brussels Sept 29th / Oct 2nd 2011
also, per request of an artist i have now a setup that streams mp3 using darkice (it can well be ogg, that is what we use). the device runs under 4% of CPU usage and can be made headless (no-monitor). if someone here is interested on this barebones build please let me know, it includes gstreamer so if anyone feels at ease with it and will like to explore further then this could well lead us into another way for streaming from the alix computer.

so yes, getting back on topic, please-please let us know what you need to have the stream back online, we want to have as many as possible for those to exhibitions.

I'd love to get my stream re-activated, Jerome. Unfortunately the instructions for me, as someone who is not trained in computer languages that can be "spoken" for the UNIX language, I need a lot of help to get my streambox (with WI-fi) up and running. If Alejo or someone out there would care to provide thorough instructions, I'd be really excited to get my wi-fi stream box active.
I'd also like to mention that Jay Needham, Sabine Breitsameter, and I are collaborating on a hybrid lecture/performance for the WFAE conference, "Crossing Listening Paths" in Corfu. We are interested in using the Locus stream map for this. The conference happens in early October. I will keep you updated. the streambox gave all sorts errors when i tried last time. will take a moment of quiet to investigate over the next 2 days
