The Brood XIII, 17-yr. cicada activity in the Chicago area has
peaked. There are an increasing number of dead cicadas on the
ground, meaning that their party (mating) is ending. However, I
still read an SPL of 85 DB in my yard today at 1 PM. The chirping
will gradually die down until the first few days of July. I expect
to end the stream around that time.
