Which dynamics did you use? I've had a pair of Behringer XM8500's nearly exposed to the elements for the last eleven years (streams are not currently online, but the mics are fine). Just use a pair of Rode Dead Kittens on one set, and Rycote SM58 wind jammers on the other. At some point, I would like to set up a new box with protected electret condensers, though.

They are now for 2 years outside protected by a wooden box

Hi Udo, there will be power nearby, and it will be on private land,
also there is 3g/4g network coverage, so a mobile dongle should work. I’m thinking a NEMA rated weatherproof box for the pi/sound card/mobile dongle, it’s the mics I am wondering about really. Would a blimp survive a prolonged outdoor season? Perhaps mount mic capsules in some kind of weatherproof box with grommets to protect from weather ingress?

Hi folks,
I have an opportunity this summer to install a permanent outdoor
streaming mic on a beautiful secluded island off the coast of Cork, Ireland this summer. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions for making a permanent outdoor mic streaming rig? Once installed, the rig will be left alone for months on end. It needs to be fully weather proof and durable.
