Received one of the new IQ Audio Codec Zero cards mid week and was a little disappointed. The blurb on the website stated "allows the recording of audio from the board’s built-in MEMS microphone, from stereo Phono sockets (AUX IN), 2x mono external Electret microphones and playback through stereo Phono sockets (AUX OUT)" and also states "Supports additional (no fit) Mono Electret microphone (Mic1 right)". There is only one external Electret mic and there is NO supports additional (no fit) Mono Electret microphone (Mic1 right).
I questioned the retailer (The PiHut) and the told me the mic socket was Mono. Ive since done a little testing and I can see that the socket is actually accepting both a right and left input but one of the inputs is a little low compared to the other. I remember that Grant mentioned this so maybe I'm going over old ground. The Alsa configuration is a lot more complex than my previous AudioInjector card. Can anyone suggest suitable setting to get the best from this card?
I've used the IQaudIO_Codec_StereoMIC_record_and_HP_playback.state from the github site to initially setup alsa. Is there any documentation anyone can point me to for ALSA mixer settings?
thanks Diarmuid.
