thanks Eric, didn't know this one. seems there is a huge community hooking up their scanners and receivers to the internet. see also http://www.broadcastify.com/listen/ (police, fire, emergency etc., the chicago feed is quite active ;) also check "A collection of live natural radio streams of the VLF band" http://abelian.org/vlf/index.php?page=live
