i got an email from Dan Godston on this. I'm currently traveling and i'm not sure i would be back in Lagos by 18th July.

But since i can't pull off the live sound stream yet (even if i'm back in Lagos by then), i would be considering a listening party based on field recordings.

Dear Locustreamers,

I'd like to inform you of World Listening Project's effort to hold the first World Listening Day on July 18, 2010 (R. Murray Schafer's birthday). Dan Godston is the main organizer for World Listening Day. I've attached a Word file about the event. Dan can answer specific questions.

I have attached a pdf explaining the purpose of the event and how you may get involved. (Hopefully the lisserv allows attachements.) World Listening Day is open to a variety of actions and interpretations. Happily, we have a growing list of interesting people who are participating.

Finally, I'd like to emphasize that we have no one in Africa participating yet. Perhaps KRN in Dakar and Emeeka in Lagos can do something foe World Listening Day. What do you think?
