On our side, Gregoire (Locus Sonus) did some tests one month ago for his development on a project we're following (and for considering more stable solutions for a next version of the streambox). I guess Gregoire is in the loop and he'll react soon on this question.

im aware that there's been some research done with he RPi let's see if we have more info and tips cause my experience with raspbian haven't been specially good comparing with the one-box-no-cables that the alix computer has provided over the years now.
once you install puredata, if you need the pd patch we use, let me know so to send you a copy.

these playful experiments are kind of iongoing exploration of "radio spaces", in terms of time/presence, spatial conditions and a shared listening experience (in opposite to podcasts & downloads).
