Hi:
I will probably be buying a few pies for several reasons soon anyway. The old machine I’m using to stream now is in need of a total existence failure anyway. I would definitely be interested in implementing such things. I’m currently using an old Pentium III from 1999 running Windows XP, with some software processing on the stream.

Hi Patrick
Thanks - sorry - I've corrected that.
We were at a workshop in Aix and people are definitely keen to capture your stream and other standalone streams on the map. I believe Stephane et al will implement it as soon as they can.
We have now a very stable and we think good sounding setup with the Rasp Pi streaming with darkice. The stream is still mono and over ethernet but we will soon have usb and stereo versions. The london_camberwell stream on the map is using this approach. Peter Sinclair is also streaming with a Pi - you can hear the sounds of the sea on his stream from Niolon just now. Peter's using a parallel approach with a modified pure data patch and USB. So on balance I would say the Pi has great potential for this - you may want to get hold of one! we can share our disk images
Actually you can see a picture of Peter's setup and read something about the REVEIL project in this recent article for The Field Reporter
Best wishes Grant

Hi Grant:
Was just looking at this file and noticed you have my stream listed as: 29. Patrick Perdue's Stream from Greensboro, N Carolina http://borris.me:888/outside Is it actually: http://borris.me:8888/outside And at some point, I would like to also attach this stream in whatever format is necessary to the map. Just keep forgetting about it.
I am also working on a poor man's M/S Matrix microphone array, which may or may not work better than my current ORTF pick-up for this kind of thing. This is yet to be seen.

Hi Nicolas
It's an awkward time for the network. Many of the first generation streamboxes are coming towards end of their usability. The new PiBox streamers are just now becoming available.
The network is very thin now.
There are a few other streams elsewhere - not (yet) linked to the locus sonus map. Here is a drafty list in case useful

Hi all,
Yep ! Grant, I 've updated the soundmap to match our previous design. I also re-introduce the day/night and clouds options. This is already done in the soundmap v.40 , currently in beta mode. I just wait to finalize the geolocation page (for mobile streams, started during the workshop) to make this new/fully version active.

Stephane, maybe you've been at work on it
