Hi Ben,

I was planning to run a streambox from a solar panel and a big leisure battery using a simple solar charge controller (about £10 on ebay) we find this keeps the battery well charged 24/7, and then a boost/buck converter (about £5) to drop the voltage safely and efficiently. I've blown a few arduino boards by connecting 12V as it's at the limit of what the onboard thingy can do, it'd be good to see if it works fine without the processor onboard!

Hei Ben -- it's around 0500 your time -- the levels seem low, although the birds
don't seem to be so far away, I've got to crank my volume to hear. (Seems to be
a *very* clear/clean signal, though, as well!)
