hi Grant & all locustreamers,
maybe I missed that info, but the IOAudio website says about the
pi-codecZero board (for the raspberry pi zero) that it is mono and
doesn't work with a pi3 etc., and didn't he mention that it doesn't
have PIP / bias voltage available?
anyway, it obviously works great with a stereo pair of Primo EM172.
that means this board together with pi zero would be perfectly small,
stereo and has low energy consumption. I'give it a try with a pi zero
soon.
I'm just listening now, it's quite low noise, better sounding than the
cirrus board. quite cool.

hello all,
in http://locusonus.org/soundmap/admin/user/
there is a field called "custom stream url", is that for self-hosted streams?
if so, how do I enable it? tried w/o success...
bests, udo
hi there,
is there / will there be support for the IQAudio boards in the locusonus image?
newer kernels support the IQAudio out of the box, so...
And, is there a possibility to connect a mic to the locusonus soundmap using
darkice as a streamer? darkice, as far as I know, doesn't support usernames except
"source", which is ld schol icecast stuff...
thanks & stay well,
Udo

Hi folks,
trying to set up an iqaudio Pi-CodecZero as described by Udo some days ago. Device seems to be loaded with lsmod | grep iqaudio and is seen at arecord -l
On boot, the pi zero starts up, I can see streambox.local, then the stream comes up, is clikable on the map, but fails after a few min. is there another step required for the darkice.cfg that needs to be set? Do i need to set the device in darkice.cfg - device = hw:IQaudIOCODEC ?
everytime I try and edit darkice.cfg, the system resets the file. where can i make this change if in fact it needs to be set?
I get a 404 on http://locus.creacast.com:9001/cork_st._luke_s.ogg which seems to suggest a darkice misconfig...

Hi Grant,
It really was great listening this year - I loved the Hokkaido stream -
probably my favourite. Sorry you missed mine - here's a clip from the SD
card, it's a shame as we had nice conditions with the river in the
background.... I'm going to figure this out now rather than wait til next
April!
One possible issue - i wonder if this is the case for others using locus
cast on iOS: i put my phone in airplane mode with wifi, so hunting for 3G
wouldn't interfere - it can cause weird feedback clicks, but i think that's
maybe what caused the 'auto-reconnect' bit of the app to not work....
Curious if anyone else mentioned this....
Anyway congrats on putting it all together, there were some really great
soundscapes!
cheers
Dom

Just a reminder to those who are setting up a stream for tomorrow's Reveil and are checking your stream on an iOS device that you will not hear audio from a broadcast using .ogg format. You can though if you use VLC.
Cheers
