Bonjour, Du 5 au 8 février se tient La Semaine du Son 2014 à Auxerre sur le Site universitaire, route des Plaines de l’Yonne, face à Auxerrexpo. Cet évènement est une « Porte ouverte » sur les domaines du son, de la vibration et de l’acoustique. Un temps de sensibilisation et de découverte, consacré cette année aux acteurs des filières son, vibration, acoustique en Bourgogne Accès est libre (dans la limite des places disponibles) et gratuit En établissant l’évènement dans le site de l’université de Bourgogne à Auxerre, nous voulons montrer notre attachement aux transferts de connaissances, et au plaisir renouvelé de la découverte d’horizons nouveaux. C’est donc à un voyage que nous vous convions pendant ces quatre journées. En 2013 nous avons accueilli 1200 auditeurs. Nous espérons vivement votre venue en 2014. Invisible Places | Sounding Cities Symposium Sound, Urbanism and Sense of Place Dates: 18 – 20 July, Location: Viseu, Portugal For more information: http://invisibleplaces.org Often acoustic space is ignored in the construction of a public space, yet the negative impact this has does not seem to get many complaints. People rarely require more quality of the sonic world, because the average consumer does not have the necessary references to change this state of affairs. We know that the prevalence of noise or sounds that do not convey any social significance and are a disturbance of the quality of life, reduces the ability to identify with the place we inhabit. It is therefore urgent to think about the acoustical problems societies are facing today and integrate that thinking in urban planning, architecture and management of public space, because the idea we have of ourselves, our personal awareness and the relationships we build in the external world, are inextricably linked to a space. We all exist somewhere. And personal identity also relates to this. [locustream] fix for non booting Alix streambox?

Hello all On a more sober note, does anybody know what to do when the Alix streambox repeatedly fails to boot? It always stops after the line Probing EDD (edd=off to disable)... ok I think EDD is not the problem. The problem is elsewhere. A quick search looks like it might be a little complicated. Any advice before we tackle it? We are also thinking we might spend our time on the new Pibox instead Thanks bw grant

Hello all In the course of a workshop in Aix last week, the streammap was fixed. The new version is at http://locusonus.org/soundmap/035/ The previous 035 version is currently set to re-route to the latest version, i think. Thanks everybody - Stephane, Udo, Max, Jérome, who got it working again. You can currently here Peter's revitalized stream from Niolon sounding very nice, with the sea on the shore.. We will have updates on very promising advances with Raspberry Pi streamers over the coming days Best wishes Grant
