hello, is there an (xml, json, etc.) list of currently available open microphones? i'm inserting once or twice an hour a randomly picked mic into the stream on radio aporee (of course with backlinks an credits), and would like to do that on mics which are actually *available*. at the moment i'm using a static list, which fails sometimes when a mic turns off. another thing, the level of my cologne stream dropped to almost inaudible, probably a defect microphone, have to check when there. i thought about replacing it with an primo em 172, which is a pretty low noise onmi. does anyone have experience with it on a streambox? thanks, udo -- radio aporee 52° 29' 66" N, 13° 25' 26" E ::: maps http://aporee.org/maps/ ::: stream http://radio.aporee.org ::: miniatures for mobiles http://aporee.org/mfm/

[locustream] raspberry stream success

hi there, received my raspberry pi today, installed a raspbian linux, openvpn and compiled darkice, connected a little wifi adaptor and plugged in an olympus ls5 in class audio mode. a first test was quite sucessful. it streams crispy 128k stereo mp3 from the olympus over a private vpn to liquidsoap on aporee.org. cpu on the raspi is 50% ... i've expected way more quirks, this is quite promising. will do more extended test the next days. if can get my 3G/UMTS usb stick to work, that would be indeed perfect, wifi, 3G, lan, stereo audio in, etc., all in this little box, nice. just wanted to let you know, in case someone has a similar plan. bests, udo

[locustream] map slow to load

I'm trying to gather interest in setting up a new stream in Chicago. (I am no longer at the westside location.) Yesterday and today the map loads in the browser extremely slowly. By that I mean more than a minute, which doesn't make for a convincing presentation.
