Ce serait bien de faire partir une newsletter demain pour le lancement de la Promenade Ososphère? Voir ce que j'ai préparé ci-dessous Jérome tu peux checker les noms des streamers? Il semblerait que le micro de Bourges ne marche plus... Ces paysages sonores transmis à distance sont écoutés en temps réel lorsque l’auditeur / spectateur se place sous chaque parabole. Au cœur de notre déambulation, nous voilà reliés sensoriellement à ces lieux éloignés et qui viennent s’articuler avec l’espace traversé. Des potentiels d’imaginaires s’ouvrent dans un aller-retour entre nos perceptions et projections sur ces espaces distants. Locustream Promenade is a sound art installation composed of sonic beams ( parabolic dishes equiped with sound speakers and small computers). The parabolas are suspended in the venue in such a way that a visitor only hears the sound from the beam when he or she is directly underneath it. Each beam plays a different stream from the Locustream project. The live streamed sounds are soundscapes coming from remote locations through the Internet. The space where the paraboles are hung is virtually connected to geo-distant spaces. By moving from one beam to another the audience walks through audio windows opening out onto a worldwide soundscape. Hello, sorry to say I have not a piece/work done with locus sonus sound material, but looking upon it opposite i have a piece that was received by the Sollefteå stream, late august or early september. It's i live improvisation done on the actual place of the stream capture. - the balcony at the apartment where I live. It's done with the soundbox built on Derek Holzers workshop earlier that summer. At the moment i played it the thought audience was not the locus sonus stream listeners merely something to record for its own sake and possible internet release (in my case Soundcloud). So 'heard' or at least captured on the locus sonus stream! :-) If one listens careful there is an amount on surrounding sounds, but they where small as it was a calm silent day. The playing anyhow brought me ideas to more sound performances in difdrent acoustic outside environments and for me locus sonus context really are connected and could be even more (wished I could dedicate more time for this). The piece is to be found at http://www.soundcloud.com/miulew and has title Balcony Box Food (if i remember - i am on a train still until afternoon) It should be downloadable aswell if needed. Hmm.... Just wanted to share though i realize the coonection is a bit loose. The connections are: 'heard on the stream', the mike place, idea-wise. They ask for soundfiles in order to make listen to works issued from, linked to, or involved in Locus Sonus projects. Because you're participating to the Locustream project(s), maybe you have some sound materials and works related to it... We would be delighted if you have sound recordings of (your) works that use or have used Locustream microphones streams and sound, or other Locus Sonus resource, whatever your use into works. Björn, I just sent a revamped streambox and a spare card. I made a soundcard check with it from a clean direct input (OP-1) so i could use both from the air captured mic sounds and play some notes and samples.. all came clean on the stream so we have to rule out the card as being faulty (on that noise-in-the-line issue you reported some days ago). On the pd patch front we got suggestions from Cyrille and others that could be integrated. Once that happens we could generate a new image for the streamboxes. I say this cause the wet/dry options on the patch help very little... So, it might be either a mic/cable or the pd patch.. but i had no problems with ground or not ground boxes and it surprises me a bit that this could be a problem since we sue this boxes for a while now.
